2007 WCDF - GAYP World Qualifying Tournament
The 2007 WCDF - GAYP World Qualifying Tournament will be held September 17th - 21st , 2007 (Mon-Fri) at Plaza Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV. Note that this is a restricted field event. ACF is permitted to send 3 players to each division. All other Federations in good standing (including ICHF) may send two participants per division. Friday is reserved in case a playoff is needed. We plan to host Men's, Women's, and a Youth event. Donations may be sent to Kim Willis, 31 Sandstone Rd, Eldon, MO 65026. The winner of the Men's and Ladies Tournaments will earn the right to challenge for the World Title. This event will also decide a World Youth Champion.Non-ACF Federations may send two players, provided Federation has WCDF membership in good standing. We anticipate a financial kickback to assist with meals and lodging, etc.
Rules and Regulations for the WCDF- GAYP Qualifiers 2007:
1. The tournaments will be played during the week beginning Monday 17 September.
2. Each tournament will consist of 8 rounds played over 4 days.
3. Each round will consist of 2 games with no restriction.
4. Starting times for the rounds will be 9.30 am and 2.30 pm each day.
5. The rate of play will be 30 moves per hour.
6. The Swiss system for pairing will be used.
7. Tiebreakers will be held on the Friday morning if needed.
8. The referees will be ? and ?.
Additional:
1. If a position occurs 3 times in a game then that game is drawn.
2. If no man has moved and no piece has been captured for 40 moves by each side
then the game is drawn.
3. Players must record their move before they press the clock.

Games belong to WCDF and Alan Millhone has all originals in his possession; will wait for them to tell him the disposition of games.
NOTE: GM stands for Grandmaster - IM stands for International Master - CM stands for Candidate Master
W-D-L per round was taken from ACF Forum submitted by Alan Millhone after each day of play... there were some gaps.

Referee - By-laws of WCDF, tie-break procedure, in order, is:
1) look at their head-to-head result
2) Sonneborn-Berger points (a variation of American "honor points" and also
common to chess)
3) Then, if still tied, play off on Friday until you have a winner
